"The 2001 50&50 is a blend of equal parts Sangiovese and Merlot made in partnership with Avignonesi in Montepulciano. It exhibits an opaque ruby color, along with generous notes of blueberries, vanilla, spices and earthiness. Though medium in body, it is ample and generous on the palate, where it reveals superb concentration, and a sumptuous, luxurious personality, with outstanding length and a sweet note of menthol on the finish. This outstanding wine will benefit from another two to three years in bottle after which it should drink well for a decade. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2020."
