Winery's tour,
tasting & lunch "Common Table"
is our private restaurant where our guests can enjoy a real
Tuscan meal and appreciate the Avignonesi wines.
All the
dishes are prepared on a daily basis and according to the
goods available on each season, with the typical traditional
taste of this part of Tuscany.
Our guests are usually guided
through a tour of the farm before enjoying the meal in a
familiar and peaceful atmosphere.
At the Fattoria Le Capezzine you will also find a shop with all our products. Our wine store
is open every day from Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm (no
reservation needed for little tastings).
The
roasting-jack
The roasting-jack, the most important piece in the
kitchen, is made of riveted wrought-iron and is
driven by means of a system of weights.
Its
mechanism allows several functions: rotation of the
cage and the four spits which themselves turn
independently; rotation of a single spit with the
cage stationary; regulation of the speed of
rotation; the sounding of a bell when the weights
reach the end of their drop; possibility of moving
towards or away from the fire; possibility of
turning the whole cage 90° to facilitate access to
the fire.
It took a lot of ingenuity to design such
a device. The job was undertaken by Alberto Gorla,
master blacksmith from Cividale Mantovano,
constructor and repairer of church clocks, and an
authority in the workings of these ancient
mechanisms.
