Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice 1995 96/100 "The 1995 Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice (100% Prugnolo Gentile aged ten years in oak) doesn't really flow, rather it oozes from the glass with a syrupy, mouth-coating texture. Dark brown in color, this massively proportioned wine is even more dense than the Vin Santo, with endless layers of spice box, dried prunes, raisins, toffee, roasted hazelnuts and minerals that coat the palate in a stunning display of opulence and sheer mind-blowing density. It too is destined for a long, long life. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2035." (Issue: 171, 6-29-07)
