Da•Di: an open-air experimentation

Da•Di Toscana I.G.T. Rosso

At Avignonesi, striving for excellence goes hand in hand with experimenting with 100% Tuscan wine-making processes. The intention is to allow the habitat to prevail over foreign influences. For this particular wine, Avignonesi has put aside steel and oak in favour of Tuscan clay. Chinese for “earth, soil”, the name Da-Di was chosen to underline this particularity.

2023 vintage

The 2023 vintage will be remembered as one of the most complex and demanding seasons ever faced. The final quality of the grapes, remarkable given the conditions, only partially offsets an unprecedented loss in volume. It was a year that laid bare the fragility of our profession and highlighted the growing need to live with an increasingly structural climatic uncertainty.

tasting notes

The nose of Da•Di Toscana I.G.T. Rosso opens with a sweet spiciness: cinnamon and star anise accompanied by small red fruits such as raspberry and currant. The aromas are suave and well balanced. The entrance into the mouth is welcoming and harmonious. The silky tannin caresses the lips and paves the way for a body of medium density and persistence. The finish is the highlight of the encounter between freshness and sweetness, which entices to sip another glass.
