La Tonda Toscana I.G.T. Sangiovese
La Tonda, which in Italian means “the round one”, was planted in 1990 as an experiment on vine-training and plant density effects. Since 2014 La Tonda is vinified separately to produce a single vineyard 100% Sangiovese wine. Every year a limited amount of bottles is produced for exclusive sale at our Capezzine farm.
2018 vintage
This great vintage is reflected in abundant and healthy bunches that have filled our organic vineyards. A warm spring kicked off what turned out to be an exciting year. The grapes benefited from a mild summer with occasional showers, allowing them to reach perfect ripeness.

TASTING NOTES
The fruitiness of La Tonda’s ripe Sangiovese gratifies your sense of smell. On the nose, hints of rose and violet petals intertwine with the more intense ones of strawberry and plum jam with balsamic nuances in the background. In the mouth the start is enveloping and warm. The tannin touches the palate with elegance and supports the sweet and opulent drinkability.
