The Sangiovese Tales

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano D.O.C.G. Toscana

This wine is made with Sangiovese grapes highlighting the balanced and harmonious traits of its habitat. The wine shows a sleek medium body, seamless tannins and a distinctive tasting profile. Great for the ‘now’ it reveals an impressive ageing potential.

2022 vintage

A dry winter and a cool early spring accompanied the vines to budding. The abundant rainfall in April proved crucial for the continuation of the season. In fact, from May until harvesting, our vines had to go through an extremely dry summer. Their high resilience allowed them to support the grapes without high stress. Close to the harvest, we were able to benefit from a good temperature range crucial to preserving the fragrance in the wines.

tasting notes

Bright in colour with medium intensity, showing vibrant purplish-red reflections. On the nose, it opens with aromas of small red berries and pomegranate juice, accompanied by the unmistakable violet note typical of quality Sangiovese. Subtle hints of vanilla and delicate oak tones from a well-judged, unobtrusive ageing in wood enrich the aromatic profile. On the palate, the entry is lively and well-balanced. The taste is expressive and crisp, revealing sweet notes of ripe cherry, plum jam, and nuances of liquorice on the finish. The body is dynamic and elegant, supported by well-defined tannins and a smooth, enveloping texture. A fresh streak of acidity carries the persistent finish, leaving a pleasant desire to return to the glass.
