With its abundant, upfront fruit and a bright acidity Avignonesi’s Rosso di Montepulciano is a typical example of Sangiovese from Tuscany. The Netflix of reds, that surprises you and calls you back for more for its great drinkability.
The Rosso di Montepulciano 2021 has a brilliant ruby red colour. The nose opens with fresh notes of strawberry, blackberry and blueberry accompanied by final nuances of wild myrtle and black cherry. Juicy it has an increasing intensity of flavour. It has a delicate and soft tannic structure, accompanied by generous aftertaste notes of cherry typical of Sangiovese.

The first half of September

VINIFICATION
8-12 days of maceration. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out by the yeasts selected from our pied de cuve.

AGEING
At least 6 months in oak barrels

Ruby red colour highlighted by purple reflections. The nose opens with fresh notes of strawberry, blackberry and blueberry accompanied by final nuances of wild myrtle and orange peel. The palate is juicy with increasing intensity of flavour. It has a delicate and soft tannic structure complemented by generous aftertaste notes of cherry typical of Sangiovese.

The Rosso di Montepulciano has a ruby red colour highlighted by purple reflections. In the nose it opens with notes of raspberry, strawberry and blackberry that combine with aromas of sweet spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate it is pleasant and fresh, with a good acidity. Ready to drink, it has a delicate and smooth tannic structure accompanied by generous balsamic aftertaste notes typical of Sangiovese.

HARVEST
Early September

VINIFICATION
Alcoholic fermentation is carried out by the yeasts selected from our pied de cuve. Maceration on the skins for approximately 10 days with daily pumping over.

AGEING
At least 6 months in oak barrels and a minimum of 3 months in bottles

The sediments you might find in this wine show that it is made of pure Sangiovese with minimal intervention. The deposit is due to its high content of a natural antioxidant called quercetin, which is perfectly safe. This is not a flaw, it is a characteristic of the pure Sangiovese.​
